Wivenhoe looked to bounce back after the embarrassing loss at Long Melford seven days ago. Ben Fowler returned as captain replacing Adam Frost in the back four. He slotted in at centre half with Garry Burdett as Sam Sadler moved to right back. Jake Hearn remained at left back.
Dan Morgan was this week accompanied by Marcus Spindler and the returning Luke Goldie-McSorely in the centre of midfield. Lewis Blanchett started on the left hand side of midfield with Joe Steel on the other flank. Jack Harrington once again lead the line.
Stowmarket were allowed far too much time in the first half and had the first chance of the game when Elliot Ringe saved well from a free kick conceded by Sam Sadler who was booked in the process. A battle of possession was endured for 25 minutes until wivenhoe opened the scoring through Luke Goldie-McSorely as he lobbed the oncoming goalkeeper.
