Wivenhoe Town headed to Norwich, to face a Gorleston Reserves side new to the league having been promoted the previous season. The Dragons made two changes, Mitch Goddard returned to the starting side and Toby Silversword started for the first time.
The sides exchanged early efforts but the home side took the lead on 20 minutes, heading home a corner at the back post. Wivenhoe had good chances to level before the break. Harry Miller shot just wide, Taylor Warden hit the post and Mitch Goddard headed over from a corner.
The second period saw Gorleston with more of the opportunities, Wivenhoe not helped by a sin bin for Alfie Eldridge. Wivenhoe came closest to levelling late in the game, a corner was headed across goal as far as Mitch Goddard who stuck out a toe from close range but only succeeded in poking the ball into keeper's arms.
The Dragons are still searching for that first win of the season with four games played.
