The Wivenhoe Town line-up had a familiar feel for this opening ay fixture away in Lincolnshire. Only two new additions made the starting 11, Taylor Warden made his debut and Harry Miller started on his return to the club. Three new signings, Hadely Quattrucci, Lewis Spurgeon and Toby Silversword made the bench. Pinchbeck United were new members of the league having been relegated last season from the United Counties Premier Division.
The home side opened the scoring in the first minute with a long range strike. Taylor Warden then levelled with a goal on his debut, touching home a rebound after Harry Johnson hit the cross bar with a freekick. The home side got in front again before Harry Miller grabbed a goal, finishing from a Taylor Warden ball across goal. It was 2 - 2 at the break.
In the second half, Fin Hughes putting Wivenhoe in front for the first time. Knocking the ball home after a Warden shot was saved by the Pinchbeck keeper. Unfortunately, the Dragons were then reduced to ten when Hughes picked up a second yellow card. It looked like the Dragons would hold on for all three points, but the home side grabbed an equaliser in the 94th minutes, it almost the last kick of the game.
Wivenhoe Town play their first home game on Tuesday evening, 30th July against Harwich & Parkeston at the Taylor Wimpey Stadium.
