The Dragons do not have a good record in this competition or against Haverhill Rovers and that trend continued. The Dragons welcomed back Finley Hughes, Tom Ayton and Taylor Warden to the starting side. There was also a first start of the season for Fin McIver-Jones in goal, following an injury to Gabe Pateman at the weekend.
Both sides had openings early on but Haverhill had the better of the exchanges and by the twenty minute mark that proved costly as they scored twice in a five minute period. Taylor Warden had a great chance to get one back for Wivenhoe, stabbing a chance at goal from close range from a Harry Miller cross when unmarked, but it went straight at the keeper and was cleared. The visitors added a third before half time when Tom Ayton fouled an attacker in the box to concede a penalty that was comfortably scored.
The second half saw a spirited attempt by Wivenhoe to get back in the game but the visitors added two further goals to see how the game and progress comfortably.
