The Dragons open the new 2015/16 season with a home game against The Woodpeckers, this Friday 7th August, 7.45pm kick off.

After the summer break, we finally return to action at Maple Tree Cars Stadium, Broad Lane Sport Ground, with the visit of Woodbridge for our first Thurlow Nunn Division One encounter after relegation from the Premier Division last season.

The visitors Woodbridge finished 3rd from bottom of Division One last season, but that will bare no significance on what we are expecting will be a tough welcome to this level of football. The Woodpeckers themselves suffered relegation back in season 2013/14 finishing at the foot of the table, one place below the Dragons. Due to the Dragons receiving a reprieve, we have now joined them one year on.

The Dragons lost the services of last seasons’ player of the year Marley Spindler who has joined Hadleigh, striker Ben Parkin to FC Clacton while keeper Pete Haxell has earned a trial at a higher level club. On the positive front we have welcomed back former Dragon, striker Ray Turner from Stanway Rovers who will act as Player-Assistant Manager while several other new faces have joined which includes fellow former Rover, striker Adam Hampson and former FC Clacton defender come midfielder Tom Austin.

Visitors to the Maple Tree Cars Stadium can follow the link below for further details.
