Update on Tom Lakin following serious injury at Harwich & Parkeston plus news of two departures.

Tom Lakin was involved in a collision towards the end of the league cup game at Harwich resulting in the forward suffering a fractured cheek and eye socket. Tom underwent surgery this week to put two plates into his face.

Prior to the procedure it was thought that Tom would be out for the rest of the season but there was some good news from the Surgeon who believes Tom will be able to recover quickly and could be back playing in six weeks.

In other first team news, full back Josh Chapman has left the club following an approach by Coggeshall United. The defender was a regular at the end of last season but has struggled for fitness since the summer and has only made four starts for the Dragons. In total Josh has played 16 games for Wivenhoe scoring three goals.

Coach Richard Chapman has also left the first team coaching team. We thank Richard and Josh for their contribution at Wivenhoe and wish them all the best at their new club.
