The conclusion of the 2022/23 season is a chance to look back at the appearances, goals and milestones achieved by the Wivenhoe Town squad.

Wivenhoe Town finished the season in 15th place, jumping three places with a final day win to avoid any chance of relegation. The Dragons played 43 games in all competitions, winning 10, drawing 9 and losing 24 games.

Manager Gary Monti referred frequently to the challenges he had this season with selecting a consistent team due to unavailability of players for a whole host of reasons, this is borne out in the numbers with the Dragons having used 61 different players this season. There were debuts for 39 players in 2022/23. Only 29 players played more than five games and 20 more than ten games.

Callum Mcglinchey’s 38 appearances were the most this season. Ryan Culleton was second with 37 games played and Lewis Hawley third highest for appearances with 34 games. Ryan Culleton made the most starts, all 37 games were as a starter.

17 different players scored, with ten getting more than two goals. George Hart finished top of the charts with 12 goals in 29 games; Callum Mcglinchey was second with 11 from 38 games; and Cai Boylan managed 10 in just 14 games in his brief spell at the club.

Ben Gallifant reached 150 games for Wivenhoe Town during the 2022/23 season. 26 games in midfield and one in goal meant he ended the season on a total of 153 for Wivenhoe Town.

George Hart and Tom Ashworth made it to a half century of games for the Dragons this season. George Hart has played 76 times for Wivenhoe, scoring 27 goals. Tom Ashworth has reached 58 games scoring 17 goals.
