Elliot Walker returns to the Dragons this summer after a brief spell at the club during the 2022/23 season. He is the latest player to introduce himself to supporters by answering our questions.

Number four is my preferred position.
Previous clubs:
I spent five years at Long Melford but have also played at Boxted Lodgers, Harwich, Hatfield Peveral and Stanway Pegasus.
Describe yourself as a player:
I am a ball playing centre midfielder. I like to use my experience to communicate and hopefully develop younger players. I haven’t got the legs I used to have but passing and heading are my two main attributes.
Why did you sign for Wivenhoe Town this season?
Loved the club for my short spell last year and have played against Shelley’s teams before and know him as a manager. I was also excited for the prospect of working with Lionel and Ollie as I’ve seen them in the game. Mo and Lorraine do a great job behind the scenes and on match days. I also wanted to try and play as high as I can for the last few seasons of my career.
How did pre-season go?
It’s been a great preseason for me training wise, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the coaching and bonding with the lads. We have a great squad. I’ve been involved in all the games and I’ve pushing to get my fitness up to be in contention for the start of the season.
What are your personal ambitions for the season?
To cement myself in the starting 11, meaning I’d be fitter and proving my ability. I want to be enjoying my football in a successful team.
What do you think the club can achieve this season?
I think we will be underestimated and people will be surprised with how we do this season. The longer the season goes on the more we will gel and the better we will become. If we get a good start, we will be strong this season. Hopefully a decent cup run and a push to try get in and around the playoffs.
Which of your team mates should supporters be excited to watch this season?
I think the two wingers we have will cause a lot of problems, Mike and Morley. I believe they will be integral to our success.
What's one fact the supporters should know about you?
I was involved in the Long Melford team that won the league cup a few seasons ago, although I missed the final through injury.
