Janet gave over 16 years of devoted service to Wivenhoe Town Football Club.
Her journey with the club began while her son, Aaron Reid, proudly represented the Dragons in goal. From those early days, Janet became a constant and familiar presence on matchdays, helping with the food and bar and always doing so with a smile.
Over the years, Janet dedicated countless hours to the club in many different roles. She served as a committee member, washed kits, supported fundraising events, and made regular trips to the wholesalers to ensure the bar and kitchen were fully stocked. There was very little she wouldn’t do to help, and she did it all quietly, selflessly, and with genuine care for the club.
Janet truly wore many hats, and her contribution to Wivenhoe Town FC cannot be overstated. She will be deeply missed not only as an incredibly valued member of the club, but also as a friend, a mother, and a grandmother.
Janet’s dedication, kindness, and commitment will never be forgotten, and she will forever hold a special place in the hearts of everyone at Wivenhoe Town Football Club.
We plan hold a minutes silence at tomorrow's match against Long Melford.
