Article from Saturday's programme.

When Roy Daniels stepped away from the club due to personal issues the committee asked me to step in as Chairman. This was not something that was on my to do list, but Wivenhoe Town Football Club is a big part of me and I agree to do it until the committee finds a suitable replacement so the club could continue to run with minimal disruption. I can't say its something I’ve enjoyed doing but its a job that has to be done and it has been made easier by having many good people around me.

This season has seen us add to our younger aged youth teams after already having the Under 11's we now also have the Under 7's, 8's, 9's, 15's and 16's. Our plans for next season are to fill in the gap years at Under 10's, 12's, 13's and 14's, these youth teams are the future of the club. Thank you to all of the managers, parents and players for your efforts this season.

The vast improvement of the playing surface and the facilities are down to the great man Ken Ballard. Without his hard work day in day out, these improvements would have taken a lot longer or may never have happened. Keep an eye out for even more changes in the future at Broad Lane, this legend also finds the time to run the burger bar on Sundays for the youth teams, is a father figure to me and I'm sure many others at the club.
Also a great thanks goes out to Lorraine Rogers, Janet Reid, Jon Button, Richard Charnock, Maureen Turner, Sarah Shepherd, Jon Rensink, Steve Rogers, Matt Griggs, Leigh Knevett, Glenn Shepherd, Richard Greenfield, John Arthrell, Richard Horrocks and anyone one else that has given up their valuable time to make this club what it is today.

The club has made great strides over the last couple of years and we invite more people to get involved if you have any time or skills to offer please do not be afraid to step forward.
Wivenhoe Town Football Club is a great club, with a fantastic history and with the continued hard work of everyone we are working towards having a fantastic future.

The club presentation for all of our teams is on 28th April 2012 I would like to invite you all to join us to toast our teams.
