The Dragons just lost out to fellow First Division South side Halstead in the Essex FA's benevolence fund-raiser cup.
Matt Tapley opened the scoring in the first ten minutes but Wivenhoe were 3 - 1 down by half time, conceding two from set pieces. In the second period substitute Peter Maina scored just after half time to make it 3 - 2. Konnor Oughton looked to have scored an equaliser to set up penalties when he scored a late late goal. Unfortunately there was still enough stoppage time for Halstead to win the tie with a late free kick.
The Dragons return to league action on Saturday 9th November with a home game against Benfleet. It's a big one for the Dragons as they look to continue their strong league form against a fellow promotion hopeful. It's 3rd v 4th at the Blackstone Stadium!
