News of two new signings and injury updates.

Gary Monti has added two further additions to the Dragons first team squad.

Emmanuel Olagunju - Manni is a 19 year old defender who can play anywhere across the back line. As a youth player he was at the academies of Tottenham Hotspurs and Norwich City. His most recent club was Concord Rangers. A very versatile player who likes to get forward. He made his debut as a substitute in our home game against Wormley Rovers.

Robbie Asaro - 23 year old Robbie is a quick and technically good right sided player. Asaro's former club's include Hungerford Town and South Kilburn. He made his Wivenhoe debut in the league cup match at Harwich & Parkeston.

The manager also provided an update on the players currently carrying injuries.

Tom Lakin - Involved in a nasty collision with two Harwich players towards the end of our midweek cup match. He suffered a cracked eye socket and cheek bone and required 15 stitches. It's likely to be awhile before Tom is able to play again.

We'd like to thank everyone who helped on the evening and wish the two Harwich players, Brad Cook and Dan Clark, a speedy recovery from their own injuries suffered in the collision.

Lewis Hagland Suffered a torn hamstring against Wormley Rovers. Lewis saw a specialist and will be out for around 6 weeks.

Goerge Hart has a pulled hamstring and needs to rest for two or three weeks.

Mike Fitzgibbon has been given permission to start training again next week. We are aiming for a return to action in our Reserves game on the 5th October.

Dan Williams has also has been given the ok to start training again and we are looking for a return on the 5th October.

David Lopez played just over half the game last night against Harwich and had a big influence, scoring a great freekick. We will continue to build his fitness and look forward to getting him back to 100%.

Sam Mead keeps having setbacks with his ankle. He may be in contention for this weekend's game but we need to take it easy with him.

Manager Gary Monti also confirmed that Dean Merrett is the new club captain, with Ross James vice-captain.

The Dragons next game is away at Little Oakley on Saturday in the league. The Dragons will be aiming to getting back to winning ways in the league after suffering back to back defeats for the first time this season.
